NUTR 5390 - Clinical Nutrition (3) Credit Hours
Clinical Nutrition will provide didactic and experiential learning opportunities in the area of clinical nutrition, including the application of the nutrition care process and model to simple and complex medical conditions. Students will complete supervised experiential learning, guided by an on-site preceptor. Weekly online course content which supports the experiential learning will be required. By the end of the course, students will have also completed a comprehensive case study on a patient with a chosen medical condition, which will be peer reviewed. At the end of the course, students will present a summary of lessons learned to an audience composed of year 2 students and year 1 students. Prerequisites: NUTR 5350 , NUTR 5360 and NUTR 5370 or department head approval. Open to Public Health: Nutrition and Dietetics concentration only. Practicum course fee will be assessed. Standard Letter Grade.
