NUTR 5360 - Nutrition Counseling and Education (3) Credit Hours
Nutrition Counseling and Education focuses on an interdisciplinary team approach to individual and group client-centered nutrition counseling which includes assisting, advising, and asking clients’ permission to provide dietary information and theories of counseling. This course also includes aspects of nutrition assessment, nutrition education, nutrition education theories and developing skills for application of these concepts with actual clients with the oversight of a community preceptor. Prerequisites: NUTR 5350 or department head approval. Open to Public Health: Nutrition and Dietetics concentration only. Practicum course fee will be assessed. Standard Letter Grade.
