NUTR 5350 - Nutrition Assessment


(1) Credit Hours

Fundamental principles of the Nutrition Care Process (NCP) and Nutrition Focused Physical Assessment (NFPA) and Functional Physical Assessment skills will be included.  Ability to screen individuals for nutrition risk, complete full assessments, collect pertinent information for comprehensive nutrition diagnosis, measure, calculate and interpret body composition along with demonstrating ability to interpret lab parameters that have nutritional impacts is included.  A working knowledge of the influence of socioeconomic, cultural and psychological factors that relate to food and nutrition behavior is embedded into materials.  Application and demonstration of skills will be required.  Pre or Corequisites: NUTR 5250  or department head approval. Open to Public Health: Nutrition and Dietetics concentration only. Practicum course fee will be assessed. Standard Letter Grade.
