- One approved statistics course
Natural Sciences: (7-8 hours)
- Two approved natural science courses, at least one including a laboratory component
Humanities and Fine Arts: (6 hours)
- Two approved humanities and fine arts courses, one from fine arts and one from either
Cultures and Civilizations: (9 hours total)
- Option A: Western Humanities I and II and one approved Non-Western Cultures and Civilizations course or
- Option B: World Civilization I, II, III
Behavioral and Social Sciences: (6 hours)
- Two approved behavioral or social science courses in two different disciplines
Minor Requirement
- Completion of a minor with a minimum 2.0 grade point average.
Program
27 hours Spanish beyond second college year, including: Additional Information and Notes
A minimum of 6 hours of Spanish at the 4000 level.
2.0 GPA in all required major and related courses (including specified General Education courses).
To meet requirements for the major, a minimum of 9 hours of 3000 level or above must be taken at UTC.
Minimum of 39 hours of 3000 and 4000 level courses.
Electives to complete 120 hours.

Students choosing to be certified in Modern and Classical Language Education should pursue a major in a specific language (French, Latin, Spanish) and declare a minor in Education . Those individuals will be required to meet the requirement of the initial degree as well as requirements for admission to the Teacher Education Program and state licensure requirements. This may require additional coursework. An intensive language experience in the United States or abroad is required to meet state licensure. |
