WSTU 2220 - Women’s Health Issues


(3) Credit Hours

A review of current literature and discussion of issues affecting contemporary women’s health. The course will introduce the biological, psychological, social, economic, and cultural factors which affect the health of women in Western society. Students will be challenged to examine their attitudes on controversial issues such as birth control, childbirth alternatives, abortion, women’s self image, and aspects of aging. On demand. Prerequisite: ENGL 1020 or department head approval. Open to non-majors. May be registered as NURS 2220. Credit not allowed in both NURS 2220 and WSTU 2220.
