BIOL 4340 - Human Development and Disease (4) Credit Hours
The study of genetic, physiological, environmental and interactive variables that influence human development from gametogenesis to birth. Students should acquire an understanding of how development occurs in humans and the relationship between abnormal developmental processes and human disease states. Laboratory explores human development through the use of embryological slides, models, and applied techniques. Lecture 3 hours, laboratory 2 hours. Prerequisites: BIOL 3250 with a minimum grade of C or department head approval; BIOL 3130 recommended. Pre- or corequisites: CHEM 3020 and CHEM 3020L or department head approval. Corequisite: BIOL 4340L or department head approval. Laboratory/studio course fee will be assessed.
