Professional Development Course
All MPA students must complete a 3-credit professional development requirement in addition to the 8 core courses and 4 existing elective (or concentration) courses. (1) An additional graduate-level 3-credit course from the MPA curriculum or another graduate program; MPA courses may include independent studies, group studies, and directed research courses if agreed to by a PSPS faculty member;
or
(2) Three 1-credit graduate-level PSPS mini-courses aligned with their career goals; mini-courses may also include independent studies, group studies, and directed research courses of a commensurate scope.
Electives
Students pursuing the generalist MPA degree select 12 credit hours of elective courses to meet their professional development goals in consultation with the MPA program coordinator.
No more than 3 credit hours of PSPS 5125 may count toward degree requirements.
