EDUC 4220 - Literacy Instruction in the Intermediate Grades and Middle School

(3) Credit Hours

Teaching and learning with 21st-century strategies to deal with the content and process of reading. Emphasizes vocabulary development, comprehension strategies, and basic study skills within a balanced literacy framework. Required of all middle grades education majors. Field component required.  Spring semester. Prerequisites: Checkpoint 2 or department head approval.  Corequisites: EDUC 3900  or department head approval. Laboratory/studio course fee will be assessed.
