EDUC 3900 - Field Experience


(1) Credit Hours

This 1-hour field experience course places teacher candidates in strategically planned settings that enables them to apply his/her knowledge and skill in school settings. Teacher candidates will view the implementation of pedagogy through real world classroom field experiences.  This field experience will be completed during the junior year of the teacher candidate’s education program prior to Residency I. Responsibilities during this field experience can include: tutoring, observing, and assisting with small groups or individuals in an instructional setting within the grade levels of desired certification. The field experience location will be assigned by the Director of Field Experiences in order to insure that students have an opportunity to experience diverse school settings. Field component required. Fall and spring semesters. Prerequisites: Checkpoint 2 or department head approval. Laboratory/studio course fee will be assessed.
