NURS 7670 - General Principles of Clinical Anesthesia (4) Credit Hours
This course is an introduction to the fundamentals of anesthesia practice and will prepare the student nurse anesthetist for cases that are commonly encountered in clinical practice. Concepts foundational to safe anesthesia care delivery in healthy patients are examined. Content delivered via lecture, clinical case studies, and class discussions. Simulation lab experiences and operating room observation times are provided for students to develop beginning level anesthesia management skills. Lecture 3 hours, Simulation lab and operating room observations 1 hour. Prerequisites: NURS 7120 , NURS 7620 , NURS 7641 all with a minimum grade of B or department head approval. Admission to the DNP Nurse Anesthesia Concentration. Differential course fee will be assessed.
