NURS 7820 - DNP Anesthesia Professional Issues Seminar II (1) Credit Hours
This course is the second in a series of four seminar courses designed to transition the student into the nurse anesthetist’s role as an advanced practice registered nurse. Selected topics relevant to the profession and practice of nurse anesthesia will be examined. Topics presented will include federal supervision regulations of nurse anesthesia practice, anesthesia delivery models, insurance reimbursement for anesthesia services, elimination of practice barriers, the business of anesthesia and practice management and billing procedures, and wellness and substance use disorder in the nurse anesthesia profession. Prerequisites: NURS 7810 with a minimum grade of B or department head approval. Admission to the DNP Nurse Anesthesia Concentration. Differential course fee will be assessed.
