In French and Francophone Studies, students develop linguistic, cultural, and literary competencies in modern French. This bilingual, multicultural education prepares students to succeed and adapt in our modern global society. In addition to gaining language proficiency and intercultural competence in French, students will develop key skills for today’s job market, such as excellent oral and written communication skills, the ability to analyze and interpret information, a repertoire of problem-solving strategies, and interpersonal skills such as resiliance and self-reliance.

Our program prepares students to create compelling arguments with research-based evidence, and it fosters understanding of the worldviews, social realities, and the cultural and artistic creations of the French-speaking world.
