The graduate certificate in Environmental Science is a stand-alone certificate that is intended as a post-bachelor’s certficate or for graduate students who are enrolled in another program at the University of Tennessee Chattanooga.
The graduate certificate in Environmental Science will enable graduate students to develop their knowledge, skills, and abilities regarding mainstream Environmental Science (ESC). Our graduate certificate focuses on all core areas of ESC, including Natural Resources, Law, and Environmental Mechanisms. ESC students work with professionals in a variety of settings to provide expertise on emerging issues. ESC is essential as government agencies, non-government organizations, consulting firms, funding agencies, public education, and private industry increasingly require a board as well as a deep understanding of issues related to the environment. This 5-course, 15 credit hours graduate certificate in Environmental Science is beneficial to students that want to advance themselves in the workforce or for those who are enrolled in a graduate program who want to supplement their courses with this specialization or to those who already have an undergraduate or graduate degree and want to learn more about ESC to enhance their careers.
Admissions Standards/Procedures:
Interested applicants must be currently admitted to the UTC Graduate School and Environmental Science Graduate Program.
Academic Standards:A minimum 3.0 graduate GPA must be earned in all certificate courses.
