All requirements of the UTC Graduate School must be satisfied, and student should complete their degree in a 12 to 24-month period. At least of 36 hours of graduate credits (at the 5000 level) is required beyond the bachelor’s degree. Because of the diversity in backgrounds and interests of students accepted into this program it has been structured into blocks where student have some flexibility in course selection beyond the core requirements. Students must take courses from the following 4 areas of focus: 1) Fundamentals [10 credit hours], 2) Basic Ecological Knowledge [4 credit hours minimum], 3) Habitat Manipulation and Computational Skills [9 credit hours minimum], and 4) Human Dimensions [6 credit hours minimum]. A grade-point average of 3.25 in graduate coursework must be maintained. Failure to meet this requirement will result in academic probation. A capstone project consisting of a grant proposal presented to the agency providing the internship and approved by the Program Director must be completed prior to graduation.

All students must complete at least 36 credit hours for the degree. Any elective credit hours of graduate coursework should be approved by the graduate faculty advisor.
