ENGL 3800 - Introduction to Public and Professional Writing


(3) Credit Hours

Building and expanding on work in ENGL 2050, this course prepares students for further study in rhetoric and professional writing by examining how the study of reading, writing, and literacy is practiced in the field. Students will gain insight into contemporary theories and methodologies used to study persuasion across contexts, and they will create analytical and persuasive texts for academic and public audiences. On demand. Prerequisites: ENGL 1020  or department head approval. Pre or Corequisites: ENGL 2050  or department head approval.
