ECHD 3600 - Differentiation in Developmentally Appropriate Math, Science, Social Studies, & Creative Arts (3) Credit Hours
This course addresses the main instructional elements of planning, implementation, and evaluation in math, science, social studies, and creative arts curriculum for young children (6 weeks through 4-year-olds). Providing the necessary inclusive learning environment requires teacher candidates’ abilities to adapt and modify curriculum for the cultural, physical, visual, linguistic, and intellectual differences of young children. The TN-ELDS, NAEYC, CEC, and DEC standards provide the foundation for early childhood educators to prepare, deliver, and evaluate effective instruction.Fall and spring semesters. Lecture 3 hours. Prerequisites: Checkpoint 2 or department head approval. Laboratory/studio course fee will be assessed.
