(3) Credit Hours

The purpose of this course is to provide an understanding of human memory function from an experimental psychology perspective. To achieve this goal, we will examine scientific theories, methods, and empirical findings that inform the understanding of  memory processes. Topics covered will include the cognitive and neural mechanisms supporting memory, abnormal memory function, memory in real-world settings, and how memory develops over the lifespan. Prerequisites: 6 hours of psychology including PSY 3130  or department head approval.
