Mastery of rhythmic and diatonic melodic performance using rhythmic syllabication and solfeggio (Movable “Do”). Aural discernment of major and minor keys, retention and replication of diatonic melodies; basic improvisation with primary performance medium over tonic and dominant harmonies. Class hours 2. Prerequisites: Acceptable score on the Musicianship Prep Proficiency Test or department head approval.Corequisites: MUS 1710 Musicianship I and MUS 1730 Musicianship Lab I.
