ENEE 4710 - Embedded Systems (4) Credit Hours
Introduction to field programmable gate arrays (FPGAs) and microprocessors. Programming with hardware description language (HDL), C, and assembly language. Embedded systems principles, input and output, and serial communication protocols. Design of programs for basic data acquisition and control using the FPGA and microprocessor as system components. Review of number systems and digital logic. Spring semester. Lecture 3 hours, projects 3 hours. Prerequisites: ENEE 2250 or CPSC 1110 , and ENEE 2740 or CPEN 3700 , all with minimum grades of C, or department head approval. Laboratory/studio course fee will be assessed. Differential course fee will be assessed.
