A theoretical and practical orientation to the middle grades, holistically addressing the personal, social, and academic needs of young adolescents. Emphasizes organizational issues, integration of curriculum, and appropriate strategies for instruction and assessment. Every semester. Prerequisites: Checkpoint 1 or department head approval.
