NURS 7540 - Advanced Critical Care Practicum (Intensivist Focus)

This clinical course is designed to provide experiential learning in development and application of the roles of the acute care nurse practitioner with an intensivist focus. Students will apply and evaluate nursing theory and concepts in both the planning and delivery of care in the critical care setting. Emphasis is placed on physical assessment, interpretation of medical data, differential diagnoses, development and implementation of management plans, documentation in the medical record, and billing, and performing relevant procedures in the critically ill adult geriatric population.225 clinical clock hoursPrerequisites: NURS 7100, NURS 7120, NURS 7110, NURS 7240, NURS 7500, NURS 7510 or Director approval.Corequisites: NURS 7530 or Director approval.Only open to Acute Nurse Practitioner D.N.P. students.Differential Course Fee will be assessed.
