NURS 7500 - Advanced Acute Care (3) Credit Hours
This didactic course fosters clinical competency and stresses evidence- based practice in the complex care of acutely-ill adult and frail elderly patients frequently encountered in acute care settings. Content includes but is not limited to altered mental status/encephalopathy, acute pain management, accelerated hypertension, shortness of breath, atrial fibrillation, acute coronary syndromes, sepsis/shock, abdominal pain, acute kidney injury, diabetic emergencies, endocrine emergencies, and preventing functional decline in the hospitalized adult client.Prerequisites: NURS 7100, NURS 7120, NURS 7110, NURS 7240 or Director approval.Corequisites: NURS 7510 or Director approval.Only open to Acute Nurse Practitioner D.N.P. students.Differential Course Fee will be assessed.
