NURS 7260 - Applied Epidemiology and Biostatistics for the Healthcare Provider


(4) Credit Hours

Historically, epidemiology has been the practice of identifying causes of disease. At its core, epidemiology is the study of cause and effect as it relates to health. This course introduces basic epidemiological and biostatistical principles, concepts, and procedures used in the surveillance and investigation of health-related states or events. An applied approach will be modeled for investigating relevant problems in human health using knowledge and practical skills in epidemiology and biostatistics. Specific health issues will be addressed by analyzing and interpreting epidemiological data and critically appraising the quality of evidence from epidemiological studies, inclusive of methods and biostatistical analyses. Only open to Nurse Practitioner D.N.P. students.Differential Course Fee will be assessed.
