NURS 7250 - Professional Aspects & Role Development of Nurse Practitioner Practice (2) Credit Hours
This course facilitates the student’s transition to the role of advanced practice registered nurse (APRN). Emphasis is placed on the historical development of APRN roles, and in particular, the role of the nurse practitioner. Competencies, as well as the organizational and regulatory scope of practice requirements expected in this role are discussed. Students examine the impact and evolution of this role transition, certification, and professional responsibilities as these relate to advanced practice nursing. Leading and managing a collaborative, inter and intra-professional practice is discussed while learning how to guide individuals and groups through complex health and situational transitions. The links among practice, organizational, population, fiscal, and policy issues are discussed. Only open to Nurse Practitioner D.N.P. students.Differential Course Fee will be assessed.
