ENCE 7620 - Traffic Operation and Control


(3) Credit Hours

The purpose of the course is to introduce the graduate students to various aspects of design, operation, technology, and control in the field of Traffic Engineering.  In particular, the course focuses on the different components of the traffic system, traffic-stream characteristics, level of service concepts, traffic control of urban streets and highways, and intelligent transportation systems.  This course will have an intense research project that will require knowledge of traffic flow theory and simulation, and traffic operation concepts. The project will result in a paper submission to a conference and/or journal. Prerequisites: ENCE 7350 or department head approval. Differential course fee will be assessed. Standard Letter Grade
