PUBH 5890 - Integrative Learning Experience

(3) Credit Hours

The Integrative Learning Experience (ILE) is a semester-long course that serves as a culminating experience for MPH students. The course provides students with an opportunity to hone skills developed over the course of their program of study (i.e., needs assessment, program planning and/or evaluation, public health leadership). Students will work with a community partner to: 1) identify a public health need or opportunity; 2) develop a working agreement governing the project scope and deliverables; and 3) prepare a final written project. With guidance from the instructor, students will work with their community partner demonstrating mastery of fundamental public health competencies while working as a part of an interdisciplinary team. An additional goal of the ILE is to increase the capacity of our partner organizations to address public health problems, resulting in new or improved public health programs and services, and strengthening campus-community partnerships.Prerequisites: Core MPH and Public Health Exposures (PHEs) courses or department head approval.Standard Letter Grade
