PUBH 5310 - Inclusion and Diversity in Community Engagement (3) Credit Hours
This course addresses the issues of ethnicity, culture, and race as it relates to health. The course examines a variety of intercultural issues, including power and oppression, and how they affect the lives of children, adults, and families living in the United States. Students will learn about the root causes and consequences of health inequalities and examine strategies for promoting health equity and the strength of evidence supporting these strategies. The course presents integrative examples requiring the development and application of relevant concepts for identifying causes, consequences, and solutions for mitigating these problems in various contexts.
