NURS 5720 - Advanced Acute Care

This didactic course fosters clinical competency and stresses evidence- based practice in the complex care of acutely-ill adult and frail elderly patients frequently encountered in acute care settings. Content includes but is not limited to altered mental status/encephalopathy, acute pain management, accelerated hypertension, shortness of breath, atrial fibrillation, acute coronary syndromes, sepsis/shock, abdominal pain, acute kidney injury, diabetic emergencies, endocrine emergencies, and preventing functional decline in the hospitalized adult client.Differential Course Fee will be assessed.
