The scope and the legal, historical, ethical, and theoretic foundations of nonprofit management as a discipline and a profession. The course will focus on concepts and skills distinctive to nonprofit management with an emphasis on content not covered in other nonprofit management courses, including nonprofit sector scope and theory, nonprofit organizational structure, nonprofit governance, and nonprofit financial management. Prerequisites: Admission to the MPA program or Certificate in Nonprofit Management program or permission of the MPA program coordinator. Standard letter grade.
