Practical application of modern Value Analysis principles to design and modification of products and processes to reduce cost and/or improve performance. Topics covered include functional analysis, functional costing, cost drivers, evaluation of alternative designs, proposal preparation and presentation. Emphasis on management of Value Analysis programs and case studies. Project required. Prerequisites: ENGM 5580 or department head approval. Differential Course Fee will be assessed.
