PHIL 1110 - Applied Critical Thinking (3) Credit Hours
The ability to think critically is a skill that one must cultivate. Critical thinking is the process of actively and skillfully analyzing, synthesizing, and evaluating information as a guide to belief and action. The best critical thinking is clear, precise, consistent, and based on sound evidence and good reasons. This class teaches the skills necessary for disciplined critical thinking and challenges students to apply those skills to various situations that they encounter in their daily lives. In addition to teaching students how to think critically, this course explores the value of truth in our present cultural and social landscape. Lecture 3 hours.
