ANTH 1500 - Anthropology Today: The Arc of Humanity

This course investigates the arc of humanity from an anthropological perspective across ancient and modern societies, providing insight into the human experience by considering social, cultural, and historic diversity in Non-Western and Western cultures. Topics emphasize the shared human experience and current trends in anthropological research, including the origin of language, human evolution, the archaeology of prehistoric societies, culture in contemporary societies, the origin of complexity, globalization, and cultural diversity through anthropological methods.
