BIOL 4770 - Cancer Biology 3 Credit Hours
A comprehensive overview of the biology, genetics and molecular basis of cancer. This course will explore the role of mutations in the onset and progression of cancer, and how they lead to the dysregulation of essential biological properties important to normal cell proliferation, cell cycle regulation and tissue differentiation. The implications of the biological findings on cancer prevention, diagnosis, classical and personalized cancer treatment strategies and prognosis will be discussed.Lecture 3 hoursPrerequisites: BIOL 3250 with a minimum grade of C or department head approval. BIOL 4280 recommended.
