The Department of Mathematics offers a minor program in statistics intended to introduce students from any discipline to the fundamentals of mathematical statistics and to the most common applied statistical methods. By completing this program, a student develops skills in advanced statistical methods necessary for conducting research in applied subjects. These skills are extremely valuable to employers and graduate schools seeking students with quantitative skills.
