Environmental Studies (EVST) is an interdisciplinary field that focuses on the human and social dimensions of environmental issues, including the effects of human societies on the natural world and the role that environments, both natural and built, have played in shaping human cultures. EVST emphasizes the role that the humanities (like art, English, and philosophy), social sciences (like anthropology, business, and sociology), and health sciences (like health and human performance and nutrition) play alongside the natural sciences in understanding, translating, and addressing the complex environmental issues facing our contemporary world.
