Pre-Health Minor

The Pre-Health Minor is designed for students pursuing careers in professional fields such as medical, dental, physician assistant, pharmacy, physical and occupational therapy, optometry, veterinary medicine, and other allied health professions. It offers an interdisciplinary curriculum that complements a wide range of majors, providing foundational knowledge and skills necessary for success in professional health programs. The minor emphasizes critical thinking, ethical decision-making, and the integration of advanced scientific practices.

Students in the Pre-Health Minor will explore core concepts in biology, chemistry, physics, the social sciences, and the humanities.  The flexible course structure allows students to tailor their academic experience to align with their specific healthcare career goals, whether they are interested in medicine, dentistry, pharmacy, physical therapy, optometry, or other health professions.

This minor is ideal for students who want to enrich their pre-health preparation and broaden their interdisciplinary knowledge in preparation for healthcare careers.

Minor Requirements


25-28 Hours. Must have 12 upper division hours. Student cannot use courses from their major for this minor.

Pick 2 courses from any of the listed courses in Learning Area 1, Learning Area 2, or and/or Learning Area 3. The 2 courses in this area do not need to be classified in the same learning area.
