Complete one of the following with a grade of C or higher or a 26 or higher Math ACT score.

MATH 1730 - Combined Precalculus (QR)
Complete one of the following:
MATH 1830 - Calculus for Management, Life, and Social Sciences (QR) or
MATH 1950 - Calculus with Analytic Geometry I (QR)
(Initial course in the Mathematics sequence is dependent upon Placement)
CHEM 1110 - General Chemistry I (LC)
CHEM 1110L - General Chemistry I Laboratory (LB)

Biology electives to complete 40 earned hours in Biology.
A minimum 16 hours in Biology courses at the 4000-level is required.
Complete a minimum of four (4) Biology lab courses above the 1000-level.

  (Individual Studies) may be counted as part of the 40 hours in Biology.
A minimum grade of C must be earned in
BIOL 1110

. A minimum grade of C in BIOL 1120  and BIOL 1130  must be earned to take BIOL 3060 , BIOL 3250  or BIOL 3350 .
Courses offered in Botany and Zoology at Gulf Coast Research Laboratory may be substituted. Approval of the Department Head is required.

Minimum of 39 hours of 3000 and 4000 level courses.

Electives to complete 124 hours.

For admission to the Teacher Education Program (TEP): Earn a minimum 2.75 cumulative grade point average, a 2.75 average on all courses taken at UTC, a 2.75 GPA in education courses with no grade lower than C, and a 2.75 in content area courses with no grade lower than C.

In addition to the department and university requirements there are the following minimum requirements for graduation with licensure: 2.75 cumulative average, 2.75 at UTC, 2.75 average in STEM courses with no grade lower than C, 2.75 average in courses in licensure content area courses with no grade lower than C.
