The Certificate in Pedagogy and Conducting is a 12-hour post-baccalaureate program. Designed for secondary choral or instrumental ensemble directors wishing to refine their ensemble pedagogy and conducting, the Certificate in Pedagogy and Conducting can be completed in three summers. The program includes nine hours of the repeatable Advanced Choral Pedagogy and Conducting or Advanced Instrumental Pedagogy and Conducting, which provide the opportunity to study with different nationally recognized guest clinicians each summer in a two-week summer institute, plus three hours of electives in either music theory, music history, or music education. Credits earned toward the Certificate can also be applied toward a Master of Music in Music Education, should the student later choose to pursue the degree.
