Core Courses
All M.P.A. students complete 23 semester hours of core courses:
Professional Development Requirement
All M.P.A. students must complete a 1-credit professional development requirement in addition to the 8 core courses and 4 elective (or concentration) courses. For pre-service students, the professional development requirement must be met by completing a 300-hour internship. In-service students will choose how to meet this requirement in light of their career goals by taking any additional graduate-level coursework approved by the Program Director, which may include independent studies, group studies, or directed research courses of a commensurate scope.
Concentration Requirements
M.P.A. students may earn a concentration in Nonprofit Management by completing four courses (12 credit hours) as listed below to fulfill the elective requirement for the degree. Three are required.
