Program Mission

The mission of Master of Science Engineering programs is to provide accessible education in the theory and applications of engineering that

Prepares students for successful careers in industry, government, and academia
Applies tools and techniques in engineering through team-based and individual-based projects

Program Objectives

In support of this mission, engineering graduate programs produces graduates who

Function as successful professional in a variety of engineering disciplines

Are progressing towards Professional Registration

Admission

Admission criteria described are minimum requirements for MS program consideration. These minimum MS admissions requirements do not guarantee acceptance into a specific graduate degree program or the UTC Graduate School

An applicant for admission to the graduate program in engineering must meet the requirements for admission to The Graduate School. For the Graduate School requirements see “Admission Requirements.”

GRE is strongly recommended for students applying for a graduate assistantship. If you have an unrelated degree, your application will be reviewed and based on your background degree(s), foundation courses will be recommended so you are ready for the program.
