College Mission:
The mission of the College of Engineering and Computer Science (CECS) at The University of Tennessee at Chattanooga is to:
- Educate and train future technical & engineering management workforce for Tennessee, the nation, and beyond.
- Discover new knowledge in engineering, management, technology and computer science.
- Engage communities through scholarship, service and economic development.
College Vision:
To be a preeminent college of engineering, engineering management, technology, and computer science in education and applied research.

The CECS supports programs in engineering, computer science, and engineering technology management that lead to degrees in:
- Bachelor of Science in Chemical Engineering (B.S.Ch.E.)
- Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering (B.S.C.E.)
- Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering (B.S.E.E.)
- Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering (B.S.M.E.)
- Bachelor of Science in Computer Science (B.S.)
- Bachelor of Science in Engineering Technology Management (B.S.)
In addition, the CECS supports programs that lead to the following graduate programs:
- Master of Science with a major in Engineering (M.S.)
- Master of Science with a major in Computer Science (M.S.)
- Master of Science with a major in Engineering Management (M.S.)
- Doctor of Philosophy with a major in Computational Science (Ph.D.)

Accreditation:
The undergraduate engineering majors are accredited by the Engineering Accreditation Commission (EAC) of ABET Inc.1, the accrediting agency for engineering programs. The undergraduate Computer Science program concentrations in Information Security and Assurance, Scientific Applications, Software Systems and STEM Education are accredited by the Computing Accreditation Commission (CAC) of ABET Inc.1, the accrediting agency for computing programs. The undergraduate Engineering Technology Management (ETM) program, with concentrations in Construction Management and Engineering Management, is accredited by the Engineering Technology Accreditation Commission (ETAC) of ABET Inc. 1, the accrediting agency for technology programs.
Faculty:
The CECS full-time faculty has extensive experience in engineering or computer science, professional practice, research, and higher education. In addition, the college draws on the talents of adjunct faculty who are employed in professional capacities in a variety of industrial and governmental settings.
