Professor Ahad Nasab, Head

Program Mission:

The mission of the Engineering Technology Management (ETM) program at UTC is to provide accessible education in the principles and application of technology management, while preparing students to understand and be productive in the work environment.

Program Educational Objectives:

In support of this mission, graduates of the ETM program will be able to:

  • Demonstrate the necessary understanding of planning, organizing, and problem-solving skills to provide value-added services in technical or management positions;
  • Demonstrate good communication skills and be able to function well in multidisciplinary teams as leaders; and
  • Appreciate the need for, and to pursue, self-directed professional development opportunities, such as graduate work, trainings, and participation in professional organizations.

The Program Educational Objectives (PEOs) can be found by the general public on the program website www.utc.edu/etem.

Program:

The ETM program is an interdisciplinary program leading to the Bachelor of Science (B.S.) degree or the Bachelor of Applied Science (B.A.S.) degree.

There are two concentrations in the B.S. ETM program:

The department also offers Mechatronics Engineering Technology, B.A.S.

These programs provide a means for transfer students with a technology degree from a two-year program (A.A.S.) to move to a four-year B.S. degree in approximately two years.

The ETM program faculty members have degrees in various emphasis areas of engineering and management and are committed to delivering a technology curriculum that has strong emphasis on technology, management, and engineering analysis and utilization of modern technical tools.

Transfer Credit:

Credits received by transfer for required courses in engineering technology management require a minimum grade of C. Although equivalents will be awarded for D grades, students must retake the courses.

Degree and Accreditation:

ETM program graduates obtain a B.S. degree. The ETM program, with concentrations in Construction Management and Engineering Management, is accredited by the Engineering Technology Accreditation Commission (ETAC) of ABET Inc,1 the accrediting agency for technology programs.
