EMBA 6130 - Management of Information Technology 3 Credit Hours
Three hours lecture. It is difficult to manage a modern organization without knowledge of information technology (IT). Often, IT is an underlying layer behind any organizational change. The course will discuss the impact of IT in the organizational performance. Also, the course will cover the latest information and communication technologies and how they are used to improve personal productivity of today’s business leaders. The course provides a balance between managerial and technical aspects of information technology. Through managerial aspects, students will learn how IT can be used for competitive advantage and several implementation issues of “big ticket” applications. Through technical aspects, students will learn how to use several MS Access and MS Excel tools to process, query, and mine data, information, and knowledge. Open to EMBA majors only. Credit not allowed in MGT 5810.
