CPSC 5260 - Introduction to Parallel Algorithms

Introduction to parallel and distributed computing; models of parallel computers; parallel programming models; network topologies; performance metrics; theoretical evaluation of algorithms; implementation of candidate algorithms on sample distributed memory and shared memory architectures; background for practical implementation of new algorithms on parallel architectures. Prerequisites: CPSC 5002 or placement or Department Head approval. Differential Course Fee will be assessed.
