ENCE 5650 - Intelligent Transportation Systems


(3) Credit Hours

This course introduces students to the principles, technologies, and applications of Intelligent Transportation Systems (ITS). The course covers a wide range of topics including systems engineering approaches to ITS development, transportation systems management and operations (TSMO), data analytics for transportation decision-making, Vehicle-to-Everything (V2X) technologies, and emerging ITS solutions. Through multiple lab assignments, a comprehensive project, students will develop skills in analyzing ITS solutions, evaluating emerging technologies, and designing integrated systems for complex transportation problems. The course combines theoretical foundations with practical applications, preparing students for professional practice in the rapidly evolving field of intelligent transportation. Prerequisites: MATH 5210  with a minimum grade of C or Department Head approval. Differential course fee will be assessed.
