GEOL 4960 - Geology Field Experience: Geology of the US Desert Southwest (3) Credit Hours
Students learn and experience the geologic history of the US desert southwest including parts of Nevada, California, Utah, and Arizona. During the semester, students learn about the geology of the region. At the conclusion of the semester, the class travels to this region to explore (including camping and hiking) and become familiar with the geology on a ~10 day field. Pre- and post-trip reports are required. Students are responsible for all travel costs including airfare, meals, and other travel costs. Spring semesters. Lecture 2 hours and ~10-day field trip. Prerequisites: At least one 3-4 credit course in geology (excluding GEOL 2100) or Department Head approval.
