MATH 3810 - Introduction to Quantum Information Science and Technology (3) Credit Hours
The purpose of this course is to present quantum information science and technology (QIST) to students, at an introductory (junior/senior undergraduate) level. This course will showcase potential applications of QIST in areas ranging from computing and secured communication to biomedical sensing and even finance. QIST is built upon fundamental concepts from physics, mathematics and computer science. Except for the specified prerequisites, the course will be self-contained with respect to the background needed to gain an understanding of QIST. Spring semester. Prerequisites: PHYS 1350 or CPSC 1100 , MATH 2200 , or Department Head approval. May be registered as PHYS 3810, MATH 3810, or CPSC 3810. Credit allowed in only one of the three courses.
