EDUC 4420 - Professional Seminar (2) Credit Hours
This course uses discussion and hands-on work to allow students to combine pedagogical knowledge and skill, readings and research on school-based situations to prepare for licensure that requires teachers to document their readiness to teach. Candidates for teacher certification must be prepared to demonstrate their readiness to teach through lesson plans designed to support their students’ strengths and needs, engage students in learning, analyze their students’ learning and adapt/adjust their instructional to continually improve effectiveness. Field component required. Fall and Spring semesters. Prerequisites: Checkpoint 1, Chekcpoint 2, and Checkpoint 3 or Department Head approval. Laboratory/studio course fee will be assessed.
