REL 2350R - Topics in Popular Culture, Philosophy, and Religion (HF)


(3) Credit Hours

An introduction to the study of philosophy and/or religious studies through popular culture. May include film, television, novels, short stories, comics, games, music, comedy, podcasts, social media, or other aspects of popular culture in genres such as horror, science fiction, fantasy, detective fiction, art film, mainstream fiction, etc. Philosophical and religious topics vary, but may include knowledge, reality, value, meaning, reasoning, personal identity, history of philosophical and religious traditions, religious experience, or the place of philosophy and religion in society. Assignments may include creative projects, such as filmmaking, fiction writing, etc. with an accompanying academic reflection. May be registered as PHIL 2350R . No credit in both PHIL 2350R  and REL 2350R.
