SOCW 3060 - Social Work Practice with Individuals and Families


(3) Credit Hours

Social Work Practice with Individuals and Families explores various strategies for designing and implementing social work engagement, assessment, intervention, and evaluation with individual and family clients. Students will develop generalist practice skills such as interviewing skills, active listening, building rapport and problem-solving. Students will apply social work values, ethics and relevant theoretical perspectives through an anti-racist, anti-oppressive lense to work effectively with diverse individual and family clients. Fall semester. Prerequisites: Admission into the Social Work program or Department Head approval.
